Some Nice Surprises

I have received a couple of gifts in the mail so I thought I would share.

First, last week I received an unexpected surprise from Staci. She sent me one of her wonderful ornaments. Is so cute and beautifully done. Thank you Staci!




Today, I received a beautiful needlecase from Goldie. It is just perfect and I am in need of one of these. Thank you Goldie!




I know it has been said before, but stitching blogging friends are the best! They sure help you get throught some tough times. Thanks again to both Staci and Goldie.

Truly A Friend

Today I received an unexpected package in the mail. I was puzzled but was absolutely thrilled when I discovered it was a Random Act of Kindness from Faye.

Faye says she felt driven to make a few things for my "pink" basket that honors my friend, Shari. How thoughtful! I am truly touched by this.


The pouch is a freebie from Plum Street Samplers using DMC hot pink floss. The overdyes in the pinkeeps are Carrie Berry and Little Pink Peony by Crescent Colors. They too are shop freebies that she has collected over the years. And the scissor fob she made hoping I would have scissors to attach it to. Of course I do!

Thank you, Faye, for being so kind and taking the time to make these beautiful things for me. You are truly a friend.

Ornaments #4 and #5 and a RAK!

I received 2 more ornaments over the weekend. On Friday night, I received Cathy's and since we get together every Friday night, I got to receive it in person.



I don't know details on this ornament, but it is a Prairie Schooler and he has a pine tree! It is very lovely. I love the jingle bells that she added.

Cathy also surprised me with a RAK! Awhile back, she took a trip to Shepherds Bush--lucky dog! She saw this pattern and of course thought of me!

And, in yesterday's mail, I received this ornie from Vonna.


This one is a Prairie Schooler also and stitched on black fabric. It is beautifully stitched. Stitching on black isn't the easiest thing to do.

Thank you both for the super ornies. I can't wait to display all of them.

A Random Act of Kindness

Yesterday I received an unexpected gift from Edgar. He sent me a beautiful notepad that has a gorgeous peacock on it. The note said he saw it in the store and thought of me. So very thoughtful of you Edgar, I love it.

SAL Update and an Apology

I started Isabell Vautier SAL last Friday. Here is my progress so far.


This piece is soooo fun to stitch. It's really I want to work on but I still have a few other commitments to finish.

Earlier in the week I posted the gifts I had received over the last couple of weeks. I just realized this morning that I had forgot one.

Vonna sent me a beautiful magnetic needle minder to thank me for helping her with the Fair and Square. I love it. My apologies to Vonna for not mentioning this earlier. I think I forgot because I had already put it to use on my board.

To Thank BeckySC

I RAK'd BeckySC to thank her for the SBEBB. I was only a member for about 1 year, but I wouldn't have met alot of you without it. It will be closing this month to allow Becky more time for herself.

I sent Becky, a thread counter, some bee buttons, thread heaven, an outdoor flag, notecards, finishing pins, a couple of small containers that lock together, a pair of floating candles and an ornament that are gingerbread men. I had read on her blog that next Christmas she is going to change the decor of her Kitchen to gingerbread men.

RAK to Margie

On Monday, 12/1, I read on Margie's blog, that she seemed to have been forgotten on the Stitching Bloggers Birthday exchange. This is what she said:

"I'm very disappointed. My birthday was a month ago and I never received anything from my partner with the Stitching Bloggers Birthday Club. I had over a year to look forward to it and this has been a terrible let down. She posted on that blog the day after my birthday that something would arrive and maybe at some point something will but I'm not really holding out much hope at this point. At least my partner received her birthday gift on time last May and she seemed to like it."

I had taken Monday off of work and was home when I read this. I felt so bad for her. To have waited practically all year and then nothing. So...I decided that Margie was going to be my next RAK. I contacted Edgar (who is in charge of that blog) and told him what I wanted to do and if I could get Margie's address.

I had just gone to JoAnn's (several times) over the weekend to stock up on stuff. I stitched her up a birthday fob, gathered up a few items and took the package to the post office on Tuesday. Today, Margie received it.


I sent her a box of DMC Floss (the Holiday Collection), a flag for her deck, a scissors, a thread counter, some happy birthday floss tags and the birthday fob. It sounds like she was quite surprised and pleased with it.

Make A Wish
I granted Carol's wish for a Christmas ornament. She didn't want anything cutesy so I decided to unearth my Hardanger skills and made something more elegant. I was pleased with how it turned out.



Random Act of Kindness
This is something I have decided I am going to start doing. There are alot of people out there that are so helpful with sharing their tips, ideas, new findings and words of encouragement.

My first recipient of an RAK was Staci K. I have gotten alot of great things from Staci's blog, the latest being the one on how to make your own overdyed white floss using coffee. It worked great!

I sent Staci some of her favorite things and a few others. Thank you Staci!

My First RAK!

Today I received my first RAK (random act of kindness), and what a beaute it is! Becky sent me a trinket box with a gorgeous, stitched peacock on it. The peacock, which was taken from Papillion Creations "The Peacock", is stitched on 32ct. Natural linen with DMC and Crescent Colors. It is just gorgeous.
