I have been working on this during the Olympics. I have worked only on the large house (building?). The first picture above is where I was when I picked it up again. The 2nd picture is where I am currently at. I love this piece.<br />
<br />
<br />
I am really enjoying working on ornaments on Sunday. I think I see a finishing day in my near future. I have a 4 day weekend ahead so maybe I will do some. I'm just not sure I have all the materials I need.<br />
<br />
<br />
I think that is all I have for now. I will be back on Sunday!<br />
<br />
Happy Stitching!<br />

<br />
I have had a good stitching week. Here is what I have been up to.<br />
<br />
I have only been working on my Plum Pudding, except for yesterday. Here's my progress as of today:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhconpFYMyaE6U_YGrc6BNqFEMnZPn_fiZByilwsM165J8M6H134cufmyW3kY2y1M88fEK81m4Mrj7-Dl1wTtyCCneo-Asg3HV9xOl6vZWxTC40C6WP-L7JbVJpEEzRVCBYZGXtQhfGJyd6/s1600/PlumPudding+1+15+18.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhconpFYMyaE6U_YGrc6BNqFEMnZPn_fiZByilwsM165J8M6H134cufmyW3kY2y1M88fEK81m4Mrj7-Dl1wTtyCCneo-Asg3HV9xOl6vZWxTC40C6WP-L7JbVJpEEzRVCBYZGXtQhfGJyd6/s1600/PlumPudding+1+15+18.JPG" /></a></div>
I think I am about halfway done with the cross stitching and then the beads. Maybe another 2 weeks?<br />
<br />
On Sundays, I am going to participate in the Instagram "SantaSundayxs". I want to get alot of things stitched for next Christmas. Yesterday I stitched Plum Street Samplers "Kringles Coal", from the JCS 2014 Ornament Issue. I love how it turned out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5ZB1MLOlYbawa0rV7tiPY3hjj94bXl8CO6ZdaCn9MEP0j19xTR5DToCe7zDzAl_e2AqKIPLP84jzoepQTPcOcjS59gkdM4WM5ohmwf8N5c49dxRICsyvFo9Xwn_g4SKLzZ2I5ZOP4RzTD/s1600/KringlesCoal.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5ZB1MLOlYbawa0rV7tiPY3hjj94bXl8CO6ZdaCn9MEP0j19xTR5DToCe7zDzAl_e2AqKIPLP84jzoepQTPcOcjS59gkdM4WM5ohmwf8N5c49dxRICsyvFo9Xwn_g4SKLzZ2I5ZOP4RzTD/s1600/KringlesCoal.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
I think I want to somehow make this into a small sack ornament. We'll see.<br />
<br />
I had today off as it is Martin Luther King Day. I decided to finally try my hand at dyeing some linen using the tea/coffee recipe. I dyed some 40, 36 and 32 count. I love how it all turned out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj1f3pazb7qDvPLhUJnJTVu5znXt-RNR3sE6FdLXNFkzzKkLvgQY6-t_1vuKyxHIoBtEyrYwN3xh5WH4uPt7Lr435qsqeG60F_jwpTKmDqAW6z-4iyNcXKQ7fgg-c3pR-mWB2WGPDY248D/s1600/CoffeTeaDyeing.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj1f3pazb7qDvPLhUJnJTVu5znXt-RNR3sE6FdLXNFkzzKkLvgQY6-t_1vuKyxHIoBtEyrYwN3xh5WH4uPt7Lr435qsqeG60F_jwpTKmDqAW6z-4iyNcXKQ7fgg-c3pR-mWB2WGPDY248D/s1600/CoffeTeaDyeing.JPG" /></a></div>
I am going to continue on with Plum Pudding. I am really enjoying it.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!<br />

<br />
New year, new start, right?<br />
<br />
I contemplated whether or not to start a new project on New Year's Day as I have for many years. I do have quite a few WIPs and have so much Christmas/Winter things I want to do. But, I did go ahead and starting a new one.<br />
<br />
Last Christmas, my son gave me a gift certificate for an online store and I got all the things for Glendon Place "Plum Pudding". Since this came from him, I decided I really should get er done!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgngaQ5pnN3c8sI_P-1xBQJovU_RXv-iuLUHwRjXgDsmu41tZRw6I8DLlED9nWvRG42NcMJ-bMgkWgJksnnaTAB83GWgOXeSzYybrlfI9lQNCWc1S5Sx8KZbDH5Ij7jqpaNrbF1Y54UyNai/s1600/Plum+Pudding+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgngaQ5pnN3c8sI_P-1xBQJovU_RXv-iuLUHwRjXgDsmu41tZRw6I8DLlED9nWvRG42NcMJ-bMgkWgJksnnaTAB83GWgOXeSzYybrlfI9lQNCWc1S5Sx8KZbDH5Ij7jqpaNrbF1Y54UyNai/s1600/Plum+Pudding+1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is my progress as of this writing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJOeB73KHGnehw_2NVwiZNDNAj1y1Jzddyio0bWVzAzBaPbRVKE85PeEbgWEQ0r3_PnnCkGexlMeUD6IHd_Q0L9G1VPKaT2yBVzx4v41xBYPBnnO-Yun_ZysBHU_JF9iKiQgRwoJHAqR5L/s1600/Plum+Pudding+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJOeB73KHGnehw_2NVwiZNDNAj1y1Jzddyio0bWVzAzBaPbRVKE85PeEbgWEQ0r3_PnnCkGexlMeUD6IHd_Q0L9G1VPKaT2yBVzx4v41xBYPBnnO-Yun_ZysBHU_JF9iKiQgRwoJHAqR5L/s1600/Plum+Pudding+2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I do like it so far, however, the pattern picture is much more vibrant than the stitched piece. When does that ever happen??? The above picture isn't really great also, but it is much more muted than the pattern shows. I am using all of the called for things.<br />
<br />
This is my second try at this post. I haven't used blogger for so long, I'm not sure I am going to be able to.<br />
<br />
Happy Stitching!<br />

After I finished my Christmas Joy, I picked up my <i>Reindeer Stocking</i> out of my WIP bucket. I was going along making good progress when I ran out of thread! Yikes! While I waited for my thread to come, I picked another WIP, <i>No Bees No Honey</i>. When my thread finally arrived, I was so close I just went ahead and finished it before going back to my stocking.<br />

<br />
Yesterday I finished Christmas Joy by Barbara Ana Designs, which I started on January 2. I have been sick since Friday and was able to get more stitching in than usual but not as much as I would have liked as I am just not feeling well.<br />
<br />
This was a very fun stitch and I can't wait to frame it!<br />

<br />
So I have decided that 2017 is going to be a YOW year for me. Year of WIPS (works in progress)!!! I decided to come clean and document my WIPS. Even though my house is discombobulated, as I am in the process of repainting and getting new flooring throughout, I am pretty sure I have located all of them. If I do come across anymore, I will add them.<br />
<br />
So, without further ado, in no particular order, here are my WIPS.<br />

Whew! OMGosh! Quite the eye opener!<br />
This list has GOT to be slimmed down. That is WAY too many for me.<br />
<br />
Now, #23 is my current project and I will continue on this and finish it. It should be a quick stitch. I am going to stay on task and attack this list. Yes I have new projects that I will want to start, however, I am going to concentrate on these WIPs. I am not going to make any hard rules as life happens. I think I will try to finish 3 WIPs and maybe then I can start something new. We will see. Not all of these are very large projects, however, there are quite a few!<br />
<br />
OK, I need to get stitching. Happy Stitching to all of you!<br />

<br />
2016 was kind of a rough year for me. My husband, who had health issues for several years, passed away on September 4. Prior to that, he had been in and out of hospitals, transitional care units and nursing homes, for about 18 months. It went pretty fast in the end, which I was grateful for.<br />
<br />
Needless to say, I did not get as much stitching as I would have liked. However, in the last month or so, I have gotten my stitchy bug back and have lots of projects ready to be stitched.<br />
<br />
I have been watching quite alot of Floss Tube. Have you been watching? WOW! I, myself, have not joined in on that. I just watch them. There are quite a few floss tubers out there that have done some extraordinary pieces! Of course, watching these enables one and I have done quite a bit of purchasing. Thus, the "lots of projects" ready to be stitched!<br />
<br />
I did manage to get 2 things stitched for this Christmas. My annual ornament for my Godson, Jacob, was this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidSNSaCZzex_JbVTBPDCftG6Kf3n8zho-MNh2zeN85lJ4uxmeOx2xfAEpeqeA71kSLM_SXYd6lfconcs481pSRDfiwTWI87WElDGKr5J0phh7_FeBByhHQK99iFy4ah5-MEOD7gdAkthBk/s1600/Jacobs+Sled+2016.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidSNSaCZzex_JbVTBPDCftG6Kf3n8zho-MNh2zeN85lJ4uxmeOx2xfAEpeqeA71kSLM_SXYd6lfconcs481pSRDfiwTWI87WElDGKr5J0phh7_FeBByhHQK99iFy4ah5-MEOD7gdAkthBk/s320/Jacobs+Sled+2016.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
My good friend, Viki, who I have known my entire life as we grew up next door to each other, is Italian. When I saw this Rome pattern, I knew I had to make it for her. It turned out so good. I put the fairly new museum glass on it (from Michaels), as I knew it would go in her kitchen. She LOVES it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSYAt81SLBPd9GXW3Rq4AVnNkBn65HQBgLzBZ_DL79NMelzapmvNzAT2QE3vE40mX3Ksx4ittSALr0ZTqI9Wgzr_wufBBoKpuXiEkwYfo6qDs6fSMQt4nUwaZMsnkQCOLLQtow8Ti0CD4d/s1600/Rome.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="242" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSYAt81SLBPd9GXW3Rq4AVnNkBn65HQBgLzBZ_DL79NMelzapmvNzAT2QE3vE40mX3Ksx4ittSALr0ZTqI9Wgzr_wufBBoKpuXiEkwYfo6qDs6fSMQt4nUwaZMsnkQCOLLQtow8Ti0CD4d/s320/Rome.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then yesterday, I finished stitching up this guy:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWhkCdVpVKwiw6VCHlRfYMcjh2oaeDlL9VKq0ZfdWvLRzlWe_Ojn0Gglhz8cTo4ZOOqfxqxxWxFZv5lm4Q0afx_z78-VanySwMaNTNZnl6ET0VPYo3EBruTm9ib-H5lg2iDKkX25zoZHbl/s1600/2016+Feathered+Santa.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWhkCdVpVKwiw6VCHlRfYMcjh2oaeDlL9VKq0ZfdWvLRzlWe_Ojn0Gglhz8cTo4ZOOqfxqxxWxFZv5lm4Q0afx_z78-VanySwMaNTNZnl6ET0VPYo3EBruTm9ib-H5lg2iDKkX25zoZHbl/s320/2016+Feathered+Santa.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
He was alot of fun. But boy, that feather trim is tricky. When you cut it, the feathers explode off! The glasses I made out of memory wire. The full supply list is included in the pattern. It is a Blackberry Lane Designs. I was going to make him into an ornament but I haven't completely ruled out framing.<br />
<br />
So, as I set here on New Years Eve night, I am thinking about the new year. I always have started something new on New Years Day and yes, I will be doing that tomorrow. It will be a surprise. I do know that it will not be a large piece. I need to work on my WIPs.<br />
<br />
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!<br />
<br />
Happy Stitching!<br />
<br />

Where does the time go? This will be the last week of school, just 3.5 days. For a long time it seemed like the school year would never end and now I can't believe it is almost over. Looking forward to some time off.<br />
<br />
I have been away for quite awhile and I am not going to go into all that. But the last couple of weeks I have made some new discoveries in the stitching world.<br />
<br />
FlossTube. WOW! Now instead of blogging, people are bringing it on YouTube. They talk about their WIPs, finished pieces, stash enhancements and some are even doing tutorials on various topics. I have watched a few but I find myself wanting them to pick up the pace. However, it is kind of fun to place a face to some of the fellow bloggers.<br />
<br />
They other big discovery for me anyway, is NEEDLEMINDERS. Who knew? Now I do already have some needleminders. It is one of the treasures we get annually at our little retreat we have from fellow stitching squad member, Jackie. However, I thought you could only use them when you were using stretcher bars or Q-snaps. I, for whatever reason, didn't think that they could be used on just ANY piece of stitching. I guess I thought it had to be a flat surface or the needle would fall off!? What was I thinking? Silly me! Since coming to this realization, of course I have a few more of these on order.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I do have some stitching to share. I decided to start something new on Memorial Day weekend. I chose Plum Street Samplers, "Betsy's Tart". I did however, change everything about it.<br />
<br />
I bought the below clock at Hobby Lobby. They are still 1/2 off. I removed the insides and spray painted it using Krylon Cherry Red paint. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZ9x_Cdwnj79VGVD5ucQiraov6sZKhxXx1NX1vIho1dbWEIggsF3mSMv1D7GElx-BybFpOp6brSpQynUerHWgWAIPKwo9sXDJflpGEEK_mawlnzVSmL5AqKNHhl-Qa3P6CpN22BJli2LdT/s1600/hobbylobbyclock.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZ9x_Cdwnj79VGVD5ucQiraov6sZKhxXx1NX1vIho1dbWEIggsF3mSMv1D7GElx-BybFpOp6brSpQynUerHWgWAIPKwo9sXDJflpGEEK_mawlnzVSmL5AqKNHhl-Qa3P6CpN22BJli2LdT/s320/hobbylobbyclock.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here is my finished piece. I absolutely love it!<br />
<br />

<br />
That is it for now. I am going to stitch the rest of today. I hope you find time to stitch as well.<br />

A New Beginning. <br />
<br />
I have been so amiss from not only my blog, but from stitching in general. For the past year and a half, my husband has been in and out of hospitals and rehab centers. And in September, he was put in a care center. Unless you have been in this kind of situation, I don't think you know what it is like. It is just so wearing...mentally. I still work full time as an Office Manager in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade school, which I REALLY enjoy. However, I have really missed my stitching life and am going to give it my all to get back into it.<br />
<br />
The other day, this came across my Facebook page.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjacLjn3F-IYbvVfHEOl_5HBLSVaF58z2Y0dA2nkSh9dutGe79RMUQqCO1moPjJ05-0Q2EyKbA-mr2KmKwwp1hGjO7QZM33g-bOFWu1_1btEeVXuVs80hbHQh5TWY6SvsL9JnNuY_7MwGaj/s1600/Permission+to+rest.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjacLjn3F-IYbvVfHEOl_5HBLSVaF58z2Y0dA2nkSh9dutGe79RMUQqCO1moPjJ05-0Q2EyKbA-mr2KmKwwp1hGjO7QZM33g-bOFWu1_1btEeVXuVs80hbHQh5TWY6SvsL9JnNuY_7MwGaj/s320/Permission+to+rest.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This really hit me good. It is really hard for me to do what this says, but I decided I need to really try. I can't fix everything.<br />
<br />
OK, enough of all that.<br />
<br />
Working at a school, I have had the luxury of having some much need time off the past 2 weeks for Christmas break. It has been so wonderful! I decided to clean out my big walk-in closet, get rid of stuff I really don't need and re-organize my stitching stuff so it will all be more accessible. It won't all be done quickly, but I have been working on it for a few hours everyday.<br />
<br />
My son, Giles, and may I say how grateful I am for him now, gave me 2 patterns off my wishlist and a beautiful accordian style file with peacocks on it for Christmas. I started one of them the day after Christmas and finished it in 2 days.<br />

<br />
This was really a fun and fast stitch. I am not quite sure how I am going to finish this one.<br />
<br />
I then started this next piece and was hoping to finish it still in 2015, but I was just a few hours short.<br />
<br />

<br />
Another very fun stitch. I really like this one. I think I would like to frame this one.<br />
<br />
Traditionally I have always started a new project on January 1. I really wasn't sure I wanted to do this as I have sooooo many WIP's that I really would like to finish. However, since I am working on my "stash", I perused through a basked of older patterns that I have not stitched yet. What was the most fun of going thru these was the fact that about 95% of them used only DMC floss. YAY!!! Overdyed threads are overrated and I have been disappointed by them so much, I just don't use them anymore. There is no dye lots for these so the threads that were used in the picture on any pattern won't be exactly the same as what I buy. The above pattern, Holly Jolly Frosty, uses 13 different overdyed threads. One color is used in just 8 stitches. Really, how much color change are you going to see in 2 blocks of 4 stitches? And pay $2-$3 for that 1 color? Anyway, I did find "Peacock Spot Sampler" by Ewe & Eye & Friends.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
Sorry this picture is so light, but it is very light on my pattern. I have had it so long that the picture faded? LOL! <br />
<br />
<br />
It is not very big so I was okay with that. Here is my progress so far.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I couldn't get this picture to rotate. It appears that I am a little rusty at blogging. I will have to sharpen my skills back up!<br />
<br />
Will, I think that is it for now. Happy New Year to all and thanks for stopping by!<br />

My goal is to get back to a weekly posting but life just gets in the way sometimes.<br />
<br />
Since my last post, I decided to work only on And They Sinned for awhile. It was becoming addictive, the more I stitched and saw progress, the more I wanted to work on it. But last Sunday, I decided I needed a break. Here is where I am at now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpckkhH0OElChBBePEOZMKZcz4sENKMJRqyV9eQIlpzn737TfFdB1JsIG548Lr3j2uN8lkOGNQP2wimbsckNnVNqt4JDD7ilcK13dpHYFJc-6TwtDUI_jQRDGWpB9q092oyN65XB-a28Hg/s1600/ATS+5+15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpckkhH0OElChBBePEOZMKZcz4sENKMJRqyV9eQIlpzn737TfFdB1JsIG548Lr3j2uN8lkOGNQP2wimbsckNnVNqt4JDD7ilcK13dpHYFJc-6TwtDUI_jQRDGWpB9q092oyN65XB-a28Hg/s320/ATS+5+15.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Not the best picture. I figure I am about halfway done. YAY!!!<br />
<br />
I didn't really do any stitching this past week, but here is what I did this weekend!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1N9M_-TE-OJsilZYqZ1KevUqsGgKgInHKZzvOxfIf98fvTkpXI_javocmd6oKerc2Sg97ba8TpkJhAhBkwE_R_IPGGn51RLyYAVuBd8FDEaK6b-wgKNwjaQi0nte2jbUfCH1wiKT2FUnL/s1600/Birds+Eye+View%25288%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1N9M_-TE-OJsilZYqZ1KevUqsGgKgInHKZzvOxfIf98fvTkpXI_javocmd6oKerc2Sg97ba8TpkJhAhBkwE_R_IPGGn51RLyYAVuBd8FDEaK6b-wgKNwjaQi0nte2jbUfCH1wiKT2FUnL/s320/Birds+Eye+View%25288%2529.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This is "Birds Eye View" by Kathie Barrick. I love it! The best part...it is just good old DMC floss. I miss just using DMC. I may have to do more Prairie Schooler designs as they are one designer that only uses DMC in their patterns. This is on 32ct. Belfast Antique White stitched 2 over 2.<br />
<br />
The downside of finishing a project, for me anyway, is I always have to "regroup" to gear up for the next project, whatever it may be. Right now I am not sure what I will stitch next, maybe something rather small, we'll see.<br />
<br />
I hope everyone had a great weekend.<br />
<br />
Happy Stitching!<br />

They call it bronchitis, but it has been horrible!<br />
<br />
I worked on my "And They Sinned" this last week. I am going to try to stitch only on this every other week for awhile and see how it goes. I am really enjoying watching this one progress!<br />
<br />
Here is a picture last Sunday...<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
Here it is today!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBpfTd_UmJeCq_JJ4wtp_hbnBB56y2pdbRb8MONFGyFDZi-NiCpmQDZJMGzd9apsSI28nQ0kLFTlX0uZzOS_Aig1Jh-KGZF5wrx5JNnuhika-fcacrM4Q9N74g0pcpk7f5iEEsWdntJETj/s1600/FullSizeRender(4).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBpfTd_UmJeCq_JJ4wtp_hbnBB56y2pdbRb8MONFGyFDZi-NiCpmQDZJMGzd9apsSI28nQ0kLFTlX0uZzOS_Aig1Jh-KGZF5wrx5JNnuhika-fcacrM4Q9N74g0pcpk7f5iEEsWdntJETj/s1600/FullSizeRender(4).jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I turned up the bottom part. That is the end of 2 pages of this pattern! Very Exciting!<br />
<br />
I think I am going to work on something a little smaller now, maybe an ornament. I am waiting for some threads to start a new "With Thy Needle and Thread" design.<br />
<br />
Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!<br />

I am a couple of weeks past but here I am.<br />
<br />
I am not going to go into why I haven't blogged in over 7 months. Just alot of everything! I have got quite a bit of stitching done these last 2 weeks however.'<br />
<br />
First is Blackbird Designs, <i>Strawberry Garden Sampler</i>. I stitched this with the threads as charted on 32ct. Cream Belfast.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBL8ZIvKfn3smE8OYLziYonOJuvEHVV9lbMc8fApZfQBDdylZ1Vxr6I8rDdK6IhvO01VW7XT3y9FNeNvNrESJSsJ1gQ5__Y4Mts_2XBai9Zp9BJ2hvQNSy2o9y4IK29e-cgRw0LEetQmSu/s1600/StrawberryGardenSampler.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBL8ZIvKfn3smE8OYLziYonOJuvEHVV9lbMc8fApZfQBDdylZ1Vxr6I8rDdK6IhvO01VW7XT3y9FNeNvNrESJSsJ1gQ5__Y4Mts_2XBai9Zp9BJ2hvQNSy2o9y4IK29e-cgRw0LEetQmSu/s1600/StrawberryGardenSampler.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I chose not to put in all of those lazy daisy stitches. I thought it looked too busy. I am very pleased with how this turned out.<br />
<br />
Then I couldn't wait to stitch up this new one from Hands On Design, <i>Stitch Every Day</i>. This one I stitched with the DMC equivalents and it is on 32ct. Raw. I will be finishing this one as the drum and it is going to go on my desk at work!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPzKMnWj5HyBOaBXrlgB_AO-6WFvj_c643wyAqI4_Lx1_qnggmOLR8QH_8Wi1riVpEcTq3jGHVFEz718-a0alaaAsPUOEaNCTrer9pB236sSpxT_faEqx8bFKWP4QsakjAjpcuxPAoGrsM/s1600/StitchEveryDay.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPzKMnWj5HyBOaBXrlgB_AO-6WFvj_c643wyAqI4_Lx1_qnggmOLR8QH_8Wi1riVpEcTq3jGHVFEz718-a0alaaAsPUOEaNCTrer9pB236sSpxT_faEqx8bFKWP4QsakjAjpcuxPAoGrsM/s1600/StitchEveryDay.jpg" height="170" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The next one is one of Plum Street Samplers, <i>A Friend Loveth</i>. This one I did with DMC's also. This is on 32ct. but I don't remember what color linen. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtSW_HHjgiiBmj6Fhqd-0Cg1NgU2_jEbEGTsy5R888kSintYOy9LPVvbWh2O4TAs-5U0_lhn7JFJ0SwrFDOm_9qn5neEg8V3pLI2POunvZZHkXfw3fRnT9XlxDowsVpizhXb_CyIP9cdMt/s1600/AFriendLoveth.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtSW_HHjgiiBmj6Fhqd-0Cg1NgU2_jEbEGTsy5R888kSintYOy9LPVvbWh2O4TAs-5U0_lhn7JFJ0SwrFDOm_9qn5neEg8V3pLI2POunvZZHkXfw3fRnT9XlxDowsVpizhXb_CyIP9cdMt/s1600/AFriendLoveth.jpg" height="246" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<i>North Pole Express</i> is a free pattern from Little House Needleworks when you buy the charted threads. I got mine from 123stitch.com. I thought it was so cute and it was a very fast stitch! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZUKPXPXUaNqtj88AshSOD7xb7FgjDXP6qW8DN6PPL6mzP7jMaC1do9IYEFty4li9CD_03WJtD9sowkE85TiQyUs9cjo9WK6pJCWoDz41kFTKZbP9szsY6CatxUrnBafK7VJFzL_OrMY-c/s1600/NorthPoleExpress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZUKPXPXUaNqtj88AshSOD7xb7FgjDXP6qW8DN6PPL6mzP7jMaC1do9IYEFty4li9CD_03WJtD9sowkE85TiQyUs9cjo9WK6pJCWoDz41kFTKZbP9szsY6CatxUrnBafK7VJFzL_OrMY-c/s1600/NorthPoleExpress.jpg" height="201" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Now to decide what to work on next? I will start something new but I am going to start some kind of rotation with my "And They Sinned". I would like to get some serious progress done on that.<br />
<br />
Well, thats it for now. Hopefully I will be back next week with more to share! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!<br />

It was a condensed one this year, just Wednesday and Thursday, but it was still lots of fun!<br />
<br />
At last years retreat, I said that I would make floss tags for us for this year. Here is what I made.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc1Vx3u3rvzCwJN0hcsKuvxH62pgcnK7ybXOChcnvcCSpBFfrd_Ee0Ke7UsBNt4l3lH9fX4TED53_BK0D4dqcv_y55-R878kJsZ-JavJ-uqMl0djd7pRLmGnvuMsnCP0uAqL0VLKKvugWO/s1600/Floss+Tags.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc1Vx3u3rvzCwJN0hcsKuvxH62pgcnK7ybXOChcnvcCSpBFfrd_Ee0Ke7UsBNt4l3lH9fX4TED53_BK0D4dqcv_y55-R878kJsZ-JavJ-uqMl0djd7pRLmGnvuMsnCP0uAqL0VLKKvugWO/s1600/Floss+Tags.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
They are from the Blackbird Designs stocking series, with a little tweaking on the toe! These were alot of fun to stitch and I think they turned out great!<br />
<br />
Unfortunately I did not take pictures of all of our goodies before I put them away once I got home. You can go over to <a href="http://stitchingsquad.blogspot.com/2014/08/retreat-2014.html">MamaJoans </a>blog as she has posted pictures.<br />
<br />
Since the theme was Christmas, I decided to work on some ornaments. I recently received Lizzie Kate's Santa '14 and the new Tiny Tidings. I completed the Santa '14 and part of the ornament with the elf. I worked on them this weekend and have fininshed stitching all of them.<br />
<br />

These pictures aren't the greatest. I did iron my linen before I put the beads and charms on but they got a little wrinkled again. These will go in my "finishing" box for my upcoming finishing day.<br />
<br />
I have been a bad blogger once again. I started out the year with great intentions and life just got in the way.<br />
<br />
I have "unearthed" the Fair and Square Exchange our 2nd exchange is just underway. The first exchange was a Patriotic Exchange and my partner was the great Marie P. Here are the squares she sent me.<br />

My plan is to update at least weekly.<br />
<br />
After I finished my ornament for January, I pulled out a project I actually started last New Years Day but did not get very far.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl716L-RhfVIJjQ-DPC9N11k-2FtUcXcExRxwVcQgQn0HsoEUPBwY6B5o6XIl6eegkhZn_qZPgfFcbqWz5Gl-lMJG5fDwWWkMx4jRH18WgCvIKBGSxgxaD1XPolWuSVJOwF7kw0V5IPUxk/s1600/ATS+before+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl716L-RhfVIJjQ-DPC9N11k-2FtUcXcExRxwVcQgQn0HsoEUPBwY6B5o6XIl6eegkhZn_qZPgfFcbqWz5Gl-lMJG5fDwWWkMx4jRH18WgCvIKBGSxgxaD1XPolWuSVJOwF7kw0V5IPUxk/s1600/ATS+before+2.jpg" height="204" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Yup, this is And They Sinned. My goal is to stitch 1 pattern page every 3 months. I am not going to push this one real hard as it is intense! I finished the 1st page last week and here is where it stands now.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCv69I2v7FtSbizc8v4VKParFh5s4CjlonklA08QyaRX9GtJIOcD_wtOGkozZ9qXwVVQZz2BZaJFaVPVzsibrEcaDN6a_fQpM1RxPkWnY0lNpklnXWP0P5wVG5Y51iBDBxFdcqPrhXaKZj/s1600/ATS+before.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCv69I2v7FtSbizc8v4VKParFh5s4CjlonklA08QyaRX9GtJIOcD_wtOGkozZ9qXwVVQZz2BZaJFaVPVzsibrEcaDN6a_fQpM1RxPkWnY0lNpklnXWP0P5wVG5Y51iBDBxFdcqPrhXaKZj/s1600/ATS+before.jpg" height="249" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The background of this section gets filled in, but I am going to wait until the very end. I might change this up a bit.<br />
<br />
So, out of my bags of many, came out another WIP.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgBikjaWQvSR_qzrCKeOM7NOkUwsW3ck6lqFeGc4B-csYiwGsRfyhmXG6w3vB1q2E49iGmJNf6trzMk0UYy3WSeRebB3hcO58KAmT20OrLmvKdPZV2UG06rfaXJBQ__MKJL4s0Ww9xxBT2/s1600/Patches+of+Life+before.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgBikjaWQvSR_qzrCKeOM7NOkUwsW3ck6lqFeGc4B-csYiwGsRfyhmXG6w3vB1q2E49iGmJNf6trzMk0UYy3WSeRebB3hcO58KAmT20OrLmvKdPZV2UG06rfaXJBQ__MKJL4s0Ww9xxBT2/s1600/Patches+of+Life+before.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is Patches of Life Sampler. As you can see, I started this in 2012. Yikes! I love it and am anxious to finish it. I have been working on it now and here is where I am at.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKGr74JTTNshmOJV1_E1QEHjbS9nXVQHBpNtYcxwzaPecgZ9O4ZAwWNDZeCUjsavLptUnruihREyjqKJc0uKNxvJ4YNKrwenlM6Okv8Jr0GmzLF8JJ9oTai0MovWdAX6iFwHlPiv7DjUS0/s1600/Patches+of+Life+after.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKGr74JTTNshmOJV1_E1QEHjbS9nXVQHBpNtYcxwzaPecgZ9O4ZAwWNDZeCUjsavLptUnruihREyjqKJc0uKNxvJ4YNKrwenlM6Okv8Jr0GmzLF8JJ9oTai0MovWdAX6iFwHlPiv7DjUS0/s1600/Patches+of+Life+after.jpg" height="241" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I am going to work on this one for awhile now. I have been collecting ornament patterns so I am ready to go come the 1st of February. I am excited about my plan.<br />
<br />
I have to share one more photo. My Kirby. He is always by me, wherever I am.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpNU7CjUB0MkSwPNw6gwqhaw9J36MKxpi1Q9IYChXClOphvdC-_mpSfydZAfdi3kTGN6MO5NNez_ujAYCs6qaa3yIjmcHYQoyX5STP_aIeXirpjYJ602w_Up4oH96fg_HGfk6MO70ByIic/s1600/My+Kirby.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpNU7CjUB0MkSwPNw6gwqhaw9J36MKxpi1Q9IYChXClOphvdC-_mpSfydZAfdi3kTGN6MO5NNez_ujAYCs6qaa3yIjmcHYQoyX5STP_aIeXirpjYJ602w_Up4oH96fg_HGfk6MO70ByIic/s1600/My+Kirby.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
He is my secret service...literally.<br />
<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!<br />

I started and finished a Christmas ornament. I chose one from the 2013 JCS Christmas ornament issue.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD-ipvnudPDB4K-F864zcujwP7bzwSRKvzhu27RH_CpoROhp1DVOF7z5wczxgRVTgmHW8CPZkwV94QCDAfiOQUdmKHKfniV_j2eUMrTHM3NFIdySsqDixiyerQalj3HfqR_eazAxT0PYUK/s1600/Jan2014+Ornie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD-ipvnudPDB4K-F864zcujwP7bzwSRKvzhu27RH_CpoROhp1DVOF7z5wczxgRVTgmHW8CPZkwV94QCDAfiOQUdmKHKfniV_j2eUMrTHM3NFIdySsqDixiyerQalj3HfqR_eazAxT0PYUK/s1600/Jan2014+Ornie.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
It is called "Roly Poly Santa". Isn't he cute? During the finishing process, you attached a string to each of his hands which they attached 3 felt stars. The picture on the right is from the magazine. I am going to look for something else...maybe jingle bells, lights, hmmm? He is stitched on 30ct. Putty with the DMC as charted.<br />
<br />
Now I can choose from one of my WIPs to concentrate on! Yippee!<br />
<br />
Have a great day!<br />

He is a senior in high school now and was the captain of his cross country team. I tweaked a Prairie Schooler, "Eleven Lords a Leaping" pattern to make a running Santa. I was very happy with how it turned out and Jacob loved it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I also have been making an ornament for my son. This one I just finished today. I never thought I would stitch on perforated paper again, but it was actually fun. I really enjoyed it. The best part about it is the finishing. It doesn't require much.<br />

<br />
<br />
For quite a few years, I have been starting a new project on New Year's Day. I have decided to try something different this year. I am going to stitch an ornament on the 1st of every month and work on WIPs in between. Maybe an occasional new start, but I have quite a few WIPs that I really would like to finish.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!<br />

I have been keeping up but not been a good blogger.<br />
<br />
Here is week 3 and 4's addition. Apparently I didn't take a picture after week 3.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
And here is today's installment, week 5.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX8CY7uprk6Y4Zri8clqjHClPX6ObyreJM9friH-846aVewblgFtjG4wylQY9FjWxQLxYkBsHVLVwzSubFplXsZb6M3_sa4p56hgwsllhZj0i0gCgE9NBbAT6v6GaPFAdqJnXP5LPbRXCk/s1600/week+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjX8CY7uprk6Y4Zri8clqjHClPX6ObyreJM9friH-846aVewblgFtjG4wylQY9FjWxQLxYkBsHVLVwzSubFplXsZb6M3_sa4p56hgwsllhZj0i0gCgE9NBbAT6v6GaPFAdqJnXP5LPbRXCk/s320/week+5.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
I really like the smallness of this sampler. The pictures I have seen of it stitched on the charcoal/black linen, look very interesting. I might have to do one that way also.<br />
<br />
<br />
I had a message that my background was going to disappear this week so I had to change it.Kind of an odd message I was thinking. Either that blog is closing down or they are not "free" anymore.<br />
<br />
Oh well. Thanks for stopping by.<br />
<br />
Happy Stitching!<br />

<br />
This is so darn cute! Love it! I was a little worried that the fabric is a little too dark, but I am using what was called for. We'll see.<br />
<br />
<br />
Yesterday I went to Joann's for a little therapy. I ran across this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBJCdViSDpPynXWBqrcAtMoYtShmResad07jGnbTSlPwzFtPSOlL4VhDirlXvMhJbnfUqsDwNA0Fj13eEI4h1fZqNypTivB0-QNPsaZgqCwHwyCovVYDsMcoNBejIStBRvAnBQRuJZEjmN/s1600/jcs+xmas+2013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBJCdViSDpPynXWBqrcAtMoYtShmResad07jGnbTSlPwzFtPSOlL4VhDirlXvMhJbnfUqsDwNA0Fj13eEI4h1fZqNypTivB0-QNPsaZgqCwHwyCovVYDsMcoNBejIStBRvAnBQRuJZEjmN/s1600/jcs+xmas+2013.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I quickly realized that I have not received mine in the mail yet as I am a subscriber. Since I had it in my hand and had a coupon, it was a no brainer. I haven't looked through it yet, hopefully I will get to it today.<br />
<br />
Today I am just planning on stitching. What is everyone else up to today?<br />

I finally got it mailed out and it was received just this past week.<br />
<br />
Jackie celebrated a monumental birthday back in June (just a little late, I am!). My summer was kind of a blur with being so busy at work. I just said yesterday, we never grilled and I still have not had any corn on the cob, which is probably too late now! Anyway, Here is what I sent her.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVS_gMCR5gUTqSMpqYV24ExNP07LhzGjb4kLoVyH-ktckyta8qyTdt3Fn5TUVZ8Kfl2diWkVew31WmRNnm5u2e1aZpkTe3Y0YcBEqe4vSlTiwsAooMv0shtRKkf2Nb-ob0p-9FjIQs3Lhyphenhyphen/s1600/box+wrapped.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVS_gMCR5gUTqSMpqYV24ExNP07LhzGjb4kLoVyH-ktckyta8qyTdt3Fn5TUVZ8Kfl2diWkVew31WmRNnm5u2e1aZpkTe3Y0YcBEqe4vSlTiwsAooMv0shtRKkf2Nb-ob0p-9FjIQs3Lhyphenhyphen/s1600/box+wrapped.jpg" /></a></div>
Instead of wrapping it in paper, I wrapped it in some 28ct. overdyed evenweave.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It is a scissor/needle/trinket box. The hardanger motif was taken from a freebie fob pattern of the Victoria Sampler. I used some waterlilies that I had that was not labelled.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

And here is the inside. Felted bottom and magnets for scissors and needles. Jackie sent me a voice mail and an e-mail and she loves it! That makes me happy! Happy Birthday Jackie!<br />

Is anyone out there participating in <a href="http://plumstreetsamplers.typepad.com/plum_street_samplers/2013/09/please-join-me.html">this</a>? I could not resist. I was sick all weekend and didn't have the right fabric right away so I finally completed my part 1.<br />
<br />

<br />This is a 9 part Sunday Mystery Sample that Plum Street Samplers is doing. The Sampler's theme is the birth of Christ and it is called Mary's Sampler. I am so excited to do this. <i>I think my friend, Jackie, should do this also!</i><br />
<br />
I am still plugging away at my Patches of Life Sampler and should have an update this weekend.<br />
<i> </i><br />
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!<br />

Now onto part 3. I have really been trying to work on it as much as I can, however, that hasn't been a whole lot. I did take some time out to work up a late birthday present however, which I will share next time.<br />
<br />

<br />
Have you seen <a href="http://plumstreetsamplers.typepad.com/plum_street_samplers/2013/09/please-join-me.html">this </a>yet? Plum Street Samplers is going to do a Sunday Mystery Sampler for the next 9 Sundays. It is not very big at all so it sounds very doable, even for me! I love mystery samplers and the theme for this one, the birth of Christ, really interests me. It would be so fun to get a group to do this together? Any takers out there? MamaJoan? Jackie? Lorus?<br />
<br />
On a non-stitching note, I am finally the owner of an iPhone. I got one of the brand new iPhone5c's in this luscious color:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I have been having so much fun getting to know this thing. This is my first ever iPhone.<br />
<br />
Well, I am going to get on to my Part 3.<br />
<br />
Happy Stitching!<br />

Yikes! I have been a bad stitcher, bad blogger and probably even a bad friend at times. I have become so involved in my job that I wasn't even having any time to stitch. I am really trying to change that.<br />
<br />
Last week we had our annual retreat, and I quickly realized how much I needed it! This retreat, Fiesta, was our most relaxing retreats. Maybe because for 3 solid days, we did not go anywhere. No Joanns, no stitching store, no nothing...just stitched!<br />
<br />
We had our usual, food yummies and meals and exchanged our gifties. And now I must admit, I am a bad photographer too. I brought my camera, but didn't even take it out of my tote. We did manage to get a group shot with our new official "Stitching Squad" shirts on.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiECxqLsKavzlhdkABUbroYMypKN3Q2GO5qVZhWodPK4luwBZA1pdhbguRsaQnriwkV9w0h9tbEZ7WUu7-ERa-c1Qgt4yNARdOD_N_vT5TbqC62jCBNzCi0ZzIf8xnhyHAThWBKAx12IjxF/s1600/Fiesta+Retreat+Girls.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiECxqLsKavzlhdkABUbroYMypKN3Q2GO5qVZhWodPK4luwBZA1pdhbguRsaQnriwkV9w0h9tbEZ7WUu7-ERa-c1Qgt4yNARdOD_N_vT5TbqC62jCBNzCi0ZzIf8xnhyHAThWBKAx12IjxF/s320/Fiesta+Retreat+Girls.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I just love this picture of us. We all look so happy, and we were. It was a great retreat!<br />
<br />
This is what I worked on, Jeannette Douglas' Strawberry Stitches. I started this about a year ago. The picture isn't the best, but I will post again once I get the charm and frame it. There are a ton of different stitches in this piece...very time consuming.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIO8Yw7UPFYbWe4FaSwIfyhmmU9DBYHXtxKJFSn4SbtMW0hwkFbPKRP_ZrHjhIwQXIdUF_mueHtd98detIk88vjID4EB8FQfdonMtZIlFOFP5lNc4QxXGVGtorO0mbreN4kg0pX8SBvEMh/s1600/strawberry+stitches.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIO8Yw7UPFYbWe4FaSwIfyhmmU9DBYHXtxKJFSn4SbtMW0hwkFbPKRP_ZrHjhIwQXIdUF_mueHtd98detIk88vjID4EB8FQfdonMtZIlFOFP5lNc4QxXGVGtorO0mbreN4kg0pX8SBvEMh/s320/strawberry+stitches.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
There are so many things that I want to stitch. However, after much contemplating, I decided to pull out a UFO instead of starting another new project.<br />
<br />
I pulled out, Patches of Life. I still really like this piece so I am going to work on it for awhile.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5jspfE_dYiFZFBuj29xLM2_mRqn6CyoaSlybAAz7iwG6X2EZOE1QAYRruuw4hKihh3lXdYLD1aItHm23MPnnc4O3oD70y72cveypPi0vn253CxsCUD5xt-bohiLV_lLYKEESTgYw3j-Ts/s1600/patches+of+life+progress.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="188" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5jspfE_dYiFZFBuj29xLM2_mRqn6CyoaSlybAAz7iwG6X2EZOE1QAYRruuw4hKihh3lXdYLD1aItHm23MPnnc4O3oD70y72cveypPi0vn253CxsCUD5xt-bohiLV_lLYKEESTgYw3j-Ts/s320/patches+of+life+progress.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
During our retreat, we watched a few "Breaking Bad" episodes...now I am hooked. I just have about 10 left to be caught up this the current season, which happens to be its last season.<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stitching!<br />

YAY! I told myself right away that I was going to get some stitching done.<br />
<br />
I had started a <a href="http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/patternFinder.fcgi?search=Search&store=%2Fstores%2Feyarn&resultPageTemplate=ResultPage.html&resultItemTemplate=ResultItem.txt&noResultPageTemplate=NoResultPage.html&case=no&primaryServer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lionbrand.com&minPrice=0&noBoolean=1&searchText=pink+lemonade+hoodie&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&sT=1">knitted sweater</a> for my new great-goddaughter earlier in the week. I had 1 sleeve done and 1/2 of the second. I quickly finished the 2nd sleeve only to find out that I didn't have the right needles to continue. Aarrgghh! I surely wasn't going out in the snowy mess. I decided to move on to something else.<br />
<br />
I started going through my "nest" and came across this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpZOo_iJSmKB7WaQGuMJKUb_jPoui7WEWke_I8dxL9IP84xeLBwZFgBlgk9sm3dZrvZySCfAc8PESKa48uQfvvp9U2uzmD5fL9ww2tA7C0IQr7gA4ED7dqgR_Wng2dtxJ1RdQ2OJStnfNg/s1600/Thimble+Purse+Pattern.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpZOo_iJSmKB7WaQGuMJKUb_jPoui7WEWke_I8dxL9IP84xeLBwZFgBlgk9sm3dZrvZySCfAc8PESKa48uQfvvp9U2uzmD5fL9ww2tA7C0IQr7gA4ED7dqgR_Wng2dtxJ1RdQ2OJStnfNg/s320/Thimble+Purse+Pattern.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I figured I could probably get this done and got started. Here is my stitched piece.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgujMdseak8Asb4jBXqp_4QizD_3jV5-Cxvl1qLLP6AXsH1SwrCw3KVVuOnLLwLSEBEpH-S5w3XX4zI6XB-3mnQ3EnMMUhVNjJ3xT8i2omMlEeJcfOxbFyA4h8N4ZyysXiLu1zl8vx66i5o/s1600/Thimble+Purse+Stitched.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgujMdseak8Asb4jBXqp_4QizD_3jV5-Cxvl1qLLP6AXsH1SwrCw3KVVuOnLLwLSEBEpH-S5w3XX4zI6XB-3mnQ3EnMMUhVNjJ3xT8i2omMlEeJcfOxbFyA4h8N4ZyysXiLu1zl8vx66i5o/s320/Thimble+Purse+Stitched.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
On Saturday, I got up and ran to Joann's to get the needles I needed for the sweater. I decided to continue on the it when I came home. It was going so fast I decided not to quit. Except for sewing in the ends, I finished it this afternoon.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUpPYYjFE3cLWhs1ZLi-ZwTdgI8_qk10dnUxcwwrgtjjKAyqLET62M35Gfs7b_l9JqEJ7TVLli5y2AbEphHHhMrKD-6Tf7-ItNMX_-EHpU3yZb-snMV1vHY_FcUkWZvQQIS_VC9_JKTzzO/s1600/Chloes+Sweater.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="261" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUpPYYjFE3cLWhs1ZLi-ZwTdgI8_qk10dnUxcwwrgtjjKAyqLET62M35Gfs7b_l9JqEJ7TVLli5y2AbEphHHhMrKD-6Tf7-ItNMX_-EHpU3yZb-snMV1vHY_FcUkWZvQQIS_VC9_JKTzzO/s320/Chloes+Sweater.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I love it! I just need to get 2 buttons. I then went back to my thimble purse and started the finishing process. I didn't realize it requires a special jewelry type glue/cement so mine is done except for glueing it into the hardware. I am going to just attached hemp for the necklace.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRYK5NiXM1h8772bT5d3jcjCkzixA7b0T5X16YFnIPMqS0IZWwRQEI2eCmvnGvuXb6b3n8TjskAeLU7zOTDzefM6_okI1bvcBX5YIIIkLY0dYZOFN2I696N7f633iCZxSXldvvSXE8jvQz/s1600/Thimble+Purse+Finished.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRYK5NiXM1h8772bT5d3jcjCkzixA7b0T5X16YFnIPMqS0IZWwRQEI2eCmvnGvuXb6b3n8TjskAeLU7zOTDzefM6_okI1bvcBX5YIIIkLY0dYZOFN2I696N7f633iCZxSXldvvSXE8jvQz/s320/Thimble+Purse+Finished.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It is so cute! I can't wait to wear it!<br />
<br />
Now I can move on once again. I loved how much crafting time I got this weekend.<br />
I think I need to start working on retreat things...it is only about 3-1/2 months away!<br />
<br />

And here I am now, working 10-12 hour days having taken on alot more responsibilities than what I started with. I love my new job, however, it hasn't left much time for my stitching and such lately. I am going to try and turn that around.<br />
<br />
I'm pretty sure it was in January when I decided to start something for my friend, MamaJoan's, birthday, which was on March 20. I did start it, however, I didn't get it done in time for her birthday. It wasn't until this last Sunday that I finally finished it. I felt so bad about it being so late and was excited that I was finally done. Today I decided to take a long lunch and take it over to her. It was a perfect time as her 3 Minnesota grandkids were there with there moms. It was a nice visit.<br />
<br />
I stitched a Danybrod design that I had got awhile back. Kind of a needlebook of sorts.<br />
<br />
Here is the outside:<br />

It is a 28ct. green linen. Here it is open:<br />

<br />
The inside is 28ct. antique white. I used the DMC's as charted.<br />

<br />
The lace is actually a pocket in which you can place packets of needles or pins. I was so pleased with how it turned out. I am not the best hand sewer.<br />
<br />
To my friend, Joanus, Happy Birthday. I am hoping this will give me a boost in my mojo and I can get my stitching back in full motion. Lord knows I have LOTS of projects to do!<br />
<br />
Thanks for visiting and I hope to be back very soon.<br />
<br />
Happy Stitching :)<br />

We have gathered at MamaJoan's house on Friday nights to stitch for many years. However, life has been so busy for the past few months for some of us that we have not been all together for quite awhile. <br />
<br />
Last night we got together and had a handmade Christmas Ornament Exchange. It was so nice to see everyone again to catch up with each other. <br />
<br />
Here is a picture of our ornaments...<br />
<br />

<br />
I wish I would have remembered to take a group picture of us, aaargh! This picture really does not do these justice, as they never do! The snowman ornament in the upper left, was made by Jackie (no blog) and Julie (no blog) received this one. It has a couple of embellishments and is very cute! The hardanger heart (center top) was made by Julie and Chris (no blog) received this gem. It is gorgeous! It has burgundy velvet inside and can be seen through the cutwork. The other snowman ornament was made by MamaJoan, and went to Jackie. Again, very cute! I love the little cardinal. Below this one is a stunning tree made by Chris and went to MamaJoan. This one is beautiful and has stitching on the back also, like the stitching around the tree. The "Love and Joy" ornie was made by Lori (no blog) and I was the lucky recipient. Love it! This is one that I wanted to stitch and now I don't have to. And the Santa in the bottom left, was made by me and it went to Lori. Let me just say that I would have loved to have each one of these ornaments! They are all beautiful! We already decided that we are definitely doing this again next year!<br />
<br />
As we have grown older, we have not been able to stay out as late. We (I) started leaving about 8:30. It was a great evening!<br />
<br />
Happy Stitching!<br />

Life has been so busy, I haven't done much of anything besides work and sleep. It has been extremely busy as work so I having been working alot. I have 10 days off ahead of me and am looking forward to reorganizing, preparing new projects and just plain catching up on my stitching.<br />
<br />
I did just finish my annual Christmas ornament that I make for my godson, Jacob. This is my 17th and the best part is, he still looks forward to what I have created for him.<br />
<br />
What I originally wanted to make for him I just could not find a pattern. I will continue my hunt for next year, however. This design I decided on, is an old DMC Freebie that I have had for some years. I jazzed it up a bit and finished it a little differently.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Nutcracker</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
DMC Corporation</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
28 ct. Lugana cream with gold</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
DMC Floss as charted</div>
<br />
<br />
I am so happy with how this turned out. I followed the shape of the outline so it looks like an upside light bulb and added the gold trim around the top also to make it look like the cap. The gold fabric in the background is what I used on the back. He will love it!<br />
<br />
I know I will not be back until at least later in the week.<br />
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!<br />
Happy Stitching to all!<br />
