Some Nice Surprises

I have received a couple of gifts in the mail so I thought I would share.

First, last week I received an unexpected surprise from Staci. She sent me one of her wonderful ornaments. Is so cute and beautifully done. Thank you Staci!

Today, I received a beautiful needlecase from Goldie. It is just perfect and I am in need of one of these. Thank you Goldie!

I know it has been said before, but stitching blogging friends are the best! They sure help you get throught some tough times. Thanks again to both Staci and Goldie.

A Gift and Squares Received

I heard yesterday that Staci received my Blogoversary Giveaway. Last Monday marked the 1st year of my blog. I am following the Wedding Anniversary gift list and this is what I sent Staci.

Enjoy all of it Staci!

This morning I heard that Clare received her Fair Square Halloween squares.

This is a freebie pattern called "Fall" from Homespun Elegance. I switched it up a little to make it more Halloweenie.

Have a good weekend,

Ornaments and a Couple of Surprises...

Tonight I finished my December ornament for the Bride's Tree Ornament SAL that I have been in since January. The ornament for December is to have a Santa, which represents Giving and Sharing. I stitched the Santa from Prairie Schooler's "A Prairie Year".

With this ornament, my Bride's Tree ornament set is complete, even finished! Here is a picture of all 12 ornaments. They are in order of the months they represent.

Thanks to Jennifer for organizing this SAL. It is a great way to get a set of ornaments done by Christmas. I had alot of fun with it.

My set will be going to my friend's daughter as a wedding gift.

The other day I received a pattern in the mail that I won. Karen was doing a giveaway and I won Lizzie Kate's "Snowflake Express Stocking". Unfortunately I have misplaced the name of Karen's blog. I apologize to Karen for this.

I don't think I can do this for this Christmas. I will have to stitch it next year. Thank you Karen!

Yesterday, I received a Christmas surprise from Staci. She sent me a scissors with a tag on it that has my initial. I remember seeing these on her blog sometime ago and thought how cute they were.

Staci was my partner for Fair and Square Round 5, which was my 2nd round on that exchange. Since then, our paths have crossed several times. Thank you so much Staci. I love it!

Well I think that is all I have for now!

And The Winner Is...

Staci K.!
Girl, have you ever gone to Vegas? You seem to have quite the luck on these blogs.

Thank you to everyone who left a comment. This was very fun.

Staci, I already have your address (LOL!) and will be sending off your box of goodies. Congratulations!

Stay tuned, for next year. A 2nd anniversary is cotton--the wheels are already turning.

Thank You

Thank you to all of you who took the time to wish me a Happy Birthday this week. Thank you to all of you who take the time to leave the wonderfully nice comments on my blog. I know how much time one can spend doing this and there are some of you who are very diligent about it.

Make A Wish
I granted Carol's wish for a Christmas ornament. She didn't want anything cutesy so I decided to unearth my Hardanger skills and made something more elegant. I was pleased with how it turned out.

Random Act of Kindness
This is something I have decided I am going to start doing. There are alot of people out there that are so helpful with sharing their tips, ideas, new findings and words of encouragement.

My first recipient of an RAK was Staci K. I have gotten alot of great things from Staci's blog, the latest being the one on how to make your own overdyed white floss using coffee. It worked great!

I sent Staci some of her favorite things and a few others. Thank you Staci!

Fair Squares and an Ornament Received

Lynda let me know yesterday that she received the Fair Squares Round #8 I stitched for her.

I stitched "Five Birds" by Barrick Samplers. I have wanted to do these for quite some time and since Lynda loves all kinds of samplers, I thought they were appropriate.

July was the first month for the Christmas Ornament Swap that I am in. Staci was the first recipient. I stitched the Country Cottage Ornament from the 2006 Just Cross Stitch Ornament book.

I switched the color of the house to Sampler Threads, Red Grape and used Whisper for the sheep. This was a fun stitch!
