Fair Squares and an Ornament Received

Lynda let me know yesterday that she received the Fair Squares Round #8 I stitched for her.

I stitched "Five Birds" by Barrick Samplers. I have wanted to do these for quite some time and since Lynda loves all kinds of samplers, I thought they were appropriate.

July was the first month for the Christmas Ornament Swap that I am in. Staci was the first recipient. I stitched the Country Cottage Ornament from the 2006 Just Cross Stitch Ornament book.

I switched the color of the house to Sampler Threads, Red Grape and used Whisper for the sheep. This was a fun stitch!

I absolutely LOVE those squares for Lynda, they're really great! And lucky Staci for getting all the ornaments this month :) I cannot stand stitching with Wisper (I have no patience!), but it is perfect for the ornament.

Interesting choice of colors on Winter's Eve. I guess the house should have been red in the first place.
