One Year

It is hard to believe that it has already been one year since my mom passed away. I think about her all the time and miss her alot.

Here is a picture of her when she was quite young--probably in her early 20's.

This would have been approximately 1948. I don't think they had color photos back then.

Mother's Day

I saw this on Facebook and some other blogs. It is so perfect for today.

"If roses grow in Heaven Lord, please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Mother's arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her that I love and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, but there is an ache within my heart that will never go away."

Happy Mother's Day Mom!
I love you and miss you.

Tough Weekend

After spending 1 week in the hospital and 1 week in a Transitional Care facility, I brought my mom home on Friday afternoon. She made it to the door of her house and collapsed. She had a massive heart attack. I called 911. I gave her CPR while waiting for them to come--which took 7-8 minutes. They got her back and rushed her to the hospital. She is on a ventilator and in a coma. It's not looking good and I still can't believe all of this has happened. It has been only 5 months since my dad passed away.

Please pray for my mom and my family. The doctors are watching her condition until tomorrow to make further decisions.

I did receive my FTT fall exchange from Moni.

This acorn is a Prairie Schooler Design. It is wonderful!

She also sent me a very generous piece of some beautiful linen, a pack of variegated flosses, a small container (great for beads or buttons), Hedgehog buttons--a family of them, a keychain with an owl on it which she made at a workshop at her local quilt store, a great pattern (how did she know I wanted one of these designs?), all of the felt decorations in the picture and the fabric in the background.

Thank you Moni!

Hen Party

I have wanted to stitch this for quite some time now. I started it on Wednesday night and this morning I did the finishing.

It is very cute stitched up. It turned out quite well. And, tonight, I gave it to my mom for Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

I want to thank all of you who left comforting comments on my previous post. Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated. I know that Shari is in a much better place and doesn't have anymore pain.
