A New Start

Over on the blog that shared the pattern for this hardanger basket that I made, I saw that she was having a HAL (Hardanger-a-long). She does very beautiful pieces so I decided to join in. She sent me the first part in very detailed instructions and graphs. Very nicely done.

I didn't have any 32ct. really other than white or cream so I asked my stitching bud, MamaJoan if I could obtain some from her. She came through with flying colors for me.

This is the first part. I'm not sure on the color of the linen, but the perle cotton is #3042 and matches very well.

I think I need to start doing more hardanger. I had a bad case of the frogs while trying to accomplish this. I had to rip out 3 different times. :(

On my last post, I forgot to share one more finish.

Halloween Rules
Lizzie Kate
32 ct. coffee/tea dyed linen
DMC as charted
Date Stitching Started: 2/12/2011
Date Stitching Finished: 6/10/2011

I am going to finish this as a bellpull. I want some kind of wrought iron hanger with some cute halloween fabric I think. I will probably have to wait until the halloween stuff comes out in a few months.

I want to give a "shout" out to one of my stitching buds, Chris. Last Friday was Chris' last day of work...she is officially (finally) retired now. Chris doesn't have a blog (she should) but she does LOTS of beautiful pieces of needlework. Chris is always upbeat and can really get our group charged up! Congratulations Chris! Enjoy your retirement! :)

That's all I have for now. I really want to start something new but I should work on some of the pieces that I already have going. We'll see. :o

Love that L*K finish. Thanks for the link on the hardanger piece. I'll probably not do it (I jumped feet first into the deep end on a hardanger piece a few years ago - it's still a WIP) but will enjoy watching your progress.

Love, love your LK Halloween finish. I have a bunch of Halloween fabric. What size are you looking for? Maybe I have what you need?
In your previous post you had a bunch of fabulous finishes. I especially like the BBD one. And the LK ABC lessons is perfect for a grad gift!

As for the Pink matters blog, my vote is to go ahead and start your own! Make sure you post a link and I bet you'll get some stitchers to join in.
