I was up late last night trying to finish up my August goals. I did finish but wasn't able to post until now.
This is block 8. I am getting anxious to get this one done now. I am really enjoying stitching it however.
Last Friday, I got together with my friend, Joan, and we did some finishing on some pieces that I have had stitched for some time. First, I did my "Traveling Stitcher". I had to stitch it in colors for me so I had to make my own pouch and needlebook.
Then it was on to "Needle and Thread". Again, I had stitched these in my colors so I sewed my own bed. I used the same fabric that I used on my "Ackworth Friendship Book". I thought it matched quite well.
The last thing I sewed, was the pillow for "Liberty Belles". I really love this piece. If and when my son moves out (hahaha), I will get my sewing room back and plan to decorate it with patriotic stuff. I am planning ahead!
I wanted to share this item I picked up on clearance at Joann's during retreat week. I am going to display my "red stitches" (as much as possible) on it. It is a red dress--quite fitting!
I am still look for more contributors for my "red blog". Please visit it here for more information.
One other thing I made this past week. I put together this carrot pincushion. I'm not sure, but I was strangely attracted to it. It was very easy. I think I will be making more of these.
I think that is all for now. Thanks for visiting and Happy Stitching :)
