Checkers Anyone?

Check this out! One of my stitching buds, Chris...who doesn't have a blog, made this and I thought it was just too cute. I had to have one.

Isn't that just adorable! It measures 1" x 1". It is stitching on 40ct. silk with DMC and is a freebie pattern from Kreinik. You can get it here. There is also a backgammon board however, I don't even know how to play backgammon so I wasn't interested in that. Of course, Chris, had stitched both.

I went to Joann's to find something that I could put this in to finish it off. This is what I came up with.

I am very pleased with how it turned out. I have to admit, I really had fun stitching this. I had only stitched on 40ct. silk once before, many years ago at a Spirit of Cross Stitch Festival. I think I might have to do it again!

Have a great day!

This is adorable! I learned to stitch on gauze at the Sprit Of X-Stitch too. I started out on some pansies at a mini class.

Great little finish! 40ct gauze and I do not get along. I think it's great that you do.

That is the tiniest thing I have ever seen stitched! The little "frame" you found for it suits it perfectly.

It's adorable Jill. I love the way you finished it. I enjoy 40 ct as long as I have a magnifier and my eyes hold up :)
