One Year

My Dad
4/27/28 - 6/22/09

In tears we saw you sinking, And watched you pass away.
Our hearts were almost broken, We wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain,
How could we wish you back with us, To suffer that again.
It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you, The day God took you home.

There hasn't been a day that's gone by that I haven't thought about my dad. I miss him alot. Love you Dad!

I understand Jill. But he lives on in your heart, in your memories, in you and in heaven. Hugs.

What a wonderful life he must have lived to have such a loving and devoted daughter :)

I know that it's hard - my dad's been gone for 15 years and it seems like yesterday.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I so understand how you feel. It is 18 months since I lost my Mom and I too think about her every day. I fell that as long as we keep them in our hearts they are always with us.

Oh Jill my heart is breaking for you. What a beautiful poem to remember your dad by. I'm sure he is looking down on you, walks with you, and will forever be there for you. Just a thought of someone brings them to life.

hugs

*hugs* I'll be in your shoes one day, Jill and I'm dreading even the thought of it.

Emma-lou just saw "grandpa with the tools" picture on your blog and she thought it was a you tube movie. She keeps saying "what him sound like?" All I could think of was "(cough) helllo", "did you bring ice cream?" and "come when you can stay longer"
