Today, my friend, Shari, lost her battle with breast cancer. In April of 2007, Shari was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer, which accounts for 1-5% of all breast cancer patients. She had months of chemo, some surgery and radiation, which ended in April 2008. At the end of May, her blood test were OK. In August, she had a scan which showed the breast cancer was back. She started chemo again at the end of August and was fighting it until today.
Here is a picture of Shari and me last June at her daughters high school graduation.
Shari was one of a kind. She would have done anything for anybody and not asked for anything in return. She was a super friend. I will miss her alot and am deeply saddened.
Last fall, I joined the When Pink Matters blog. I stitched "pink" during the month of October in her honor. I have continued to stitch pink, stitching 1 item every month.I will probably continue to do this in her memory.
