Grandma Emma Krieger

Over on the Blackbird Designs blog, they are having a contest. Stitch the sampler that they designed in your choice of linen and floss, add a family name and a bird motif. Well I thought I would give it a whirl.

There was no deciding whose name I would stitch in it. My paternal grandmother, after all, she was the original peacock lover around here. I am a bit like her with my likes and dislikes and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of here at some point.

I just received my new Loose Feathers "Peacock Pinkeep" yesterday so I had my "bird". I used Weeks Dye Works "Peacock" and stitched it on a piece of 32ct home-dyed fabric.

I think it turned out quite well and I am very pleased. I'm sure my grandma would be pleased also.

Oh I love it Jill...love that peacock :)
I really love your Grandma's name too...Emma...Ian and Jacob were going to be Ian and Emma if they were boy/girl twins...but I don't have an Emma, so you know the "rest of the story" as Paul Harvey says :)
I don't know why I didn't name Ellie, Emma? Hmmm...
