As mentioned in my previous post, I started my new project today, CHS Alphabet Blocks. Here is how far I got today while tending to this nasty cold I have.
I am stitching this with DMC as charted except for the large filled-in box. I am using DMC Variations for these. I decided to go with different colors instead of all of them being the same. As I stitch each one I am deciding which variations to use. I am very pleased with this so far. If anyone has this in their "to do" box, I would encourage you to get it out...it is a very fun stitch!
Now that I have a gauge on how much time these squares take, I have decided to make this my Sunday project.
I hope everyone is having a great New Year's.
Happy Stitching :)

gorgeous new start Jill. This one is waiting in my stash as well. It will be lovely to follow your progress
Nice. I think I need to follow your lead and have a "Sunday" project. I like working different projects which is evident at the number of WIP's I have! Happy New Year to you and looking forward to continued progress.
Great new start.

It is looking great so far.
I hope your cold is better soon.
That looks like such a fun project, Jill. I'm working on an alphabet design myself!
You asked on my blog about my header photo...It is by Waxing Moon and here is the link to it: http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemdetail.pl?item=WM135 . I stitched it in 2010 and really enjoyed it. If you want to see that post it is here: http://stitchingdream.blogspot.com/2010/02/january-in-february.html
Happy New Year to you :)
Looking GREAt!!
I bet before too many Sundays you'll have this all stitched up, huh? :)
Nice beginning Jill...I like the idea of DMC Variations also.. Will be looking for more of this one! Take care, Faye
I'll need to pull mine out and start stitching on it again. I think I got as far as the letter "H".
Hope you are feeling better!
Great start on the alphabet and I'm glad you decided to use different colors to fill in the boxes. This is one of my WIPs on my massive list I'm hoping to get to this year.
Lovely start! A Sunday project sounds nice and I can't wait to see your alphabet grow. :)
They look great so far! Love the variegated parts. I DO have that in my stash, but it will have to wait...guess I'll live vicariously thru you for now, lol.
I like your CHS alphabet start. I am looking forward to your progress.
Very neat idea! Haven't used Variations in a while - may have to snitch your idea...
