Free Country?

I thought as a blog owner, I could do with my blog as I wish. I could post what I wanted, choose themes as I wish, follow blogs that I like, have a blogroll with who I want, etc. I'd like to know where the rules are that tell me how I have to run my blog.

And I thought the same would apply to a blog that was created for private exchanges. An exchange forum that you could have just a handful of selected people. Maybe people you know that are dependable and you can trust, people who don't have any any major obstacles such as health issues that highly restrict their stitching time and have been vocal about it, or people who are great stitchers and/or finishers or people who you know would definitely be interested in the type of exchange you are having. And including and not including certain people is not meant to hurt anyone.

Apparently not.

Some think they can tell others differently. I didn't think I had to report to anyone as to why I run my blog(s) as I do. If you don't like something on my blog...don't read it. Simple as that.

I really hate to be vocal about this, but I have to get this out.

And since these people post about these things on their blogs, I don't think they are any better a person than anyone else.

That's it. Peace.

I would have to agree. I think---and this is my opinion, that people tend to post things and say things through the electronic media that they would not say in person.

And if you could truly be honest with these people and just tell them the truth they would not be happy with that either. Just because someone chooses to start or host a group of people does not mean those not chosen were purposely left out. Sometimes it was just an honest oversight or maybe it was assumed they would not have an interest in participating.

All in all I don't really like to vent about these kind of things on my blog or anyone elses because I think life is too short to be so petty over these things. And I feel that if you really want to take the "high" road, these things would not have to be mentioned on a blog. Which is why I try not to vent about such things. I want my blog to be about my stitching and once in a while my personal life.

Stitching should be fun, not filled with drama.

It's just life and sometimes life just isn't fair.

I'm so sorry Jill that someone(s) has upset you, I don't know what is going on, but from experience I know exactly how you feel. Please take good care, rise above and continue being you, that's why those of us that read your blog read it, because it is you being you - that's all that matters. Hang in there...this too shall pass.

You said it sister!!! I agree wholeheartedly with both Mama Joan and Sweet Vonna - too much drama in real life to create more in the cyber world. Keep Being you!!

I am still loving that finish in yesterdays post!! Margaret Cottam is just stupendous!!

Jill, you are certainly entitled to be you, and as you said, anyone is more than welcome to not watch you be you if they don't want to.

The world is certainly a funny ole place-- you'd think we stitcher could manage getting along and playing nice.

With all you do for a whole herd of folks, I wish the world would treat you nicer!

to borrow a phrase --- Thanks for being you on behalf of the 99%!

Hey Jill just ignore them.

A friend shut down her blogs last week after getting dumped on by some nasties and she will be sorely missed in the blogging world.

Jill, so sorry that someone upset you.

I always enjoy the stitching you share here on your blog. You do beautiful work.

Keep your chin up.

Jill - So sorry someone got under your skin and good for you for venting! You know what they say about 'opinions', everyone has one. Not that is out of your system, be the bigger person and more on. Life is too short. I once got blasted during a traveling pattern SAL so that I will NEVER participate again. I choose to eliminate stress and turmoil from my life whenever I can. I am not 100% up on what happened but you keep on posting as you wish because there are alot of us that enjoy your posts and the crab-cakes of the world need not follow. It's their choice just as what you do on your blog is YOUR choice. The End!

Jill, Dont know what or who or how...just know to push it out or your circle. They are the one with the problem...not you. Take care, Faye

You go girl! Your blog is yours, and if others don't like it, they don't have to read it.

I have to agree with the others that said to rise above and be the better person now you've vented.

Congrats on the Margaret Cottam piece, I'm another catching up on blogs after some family health issues.

I often wonder why it is the giving, helpful, talented stitchers that get dumped on because others find their blogs so wonderful. I fear it may be a touch of jealousy the prompts these drama queens to diss on others. There's always some individuals that love to cause ill will and keep others "stirred up". Please ignore them, and hopefully they will go away. I love your blog and how you design it. Your stitching is wonderful. I get alot of pleasure from seeing what you complete.

So sorry that others are being a pain in the you know what!

You should run your blogs the way YOU want!!! If someone does not want to read it then they can just not visit.

Just been discussing this with my hubby this morning. He calls them keyboard warriors as they will fight online but are cowards face to face .
Some people are not worth bothering with . Their problem , not yours. I enjoy your blog , but if I didn't , I would stop reading , full stop. It is not my place or anyone elses to tell you how to write it or do it.
Ignore them , and carry on as you will .X

I have not the slightest clue what this is about, because I somehow cannot imagine how someone can be offended by any of your blogs, or the way you run whatever exchange?
For whatever it's worth Jill...I do enjoy your blog, and enjoy admiring your exchanges as well, and I find it's totally up to you how you set those exchanges up and with who. :)

Jill...don't you let those kind of people get you down! I agree 100%; this is your blog/exchange to do with as you want to...if they don't like it then they shouldn't be reading it!! Some people are ONLY happy when they are causing others pain and heartache...but remember, what goes around comes around and they WILL get theirs one day. You just keep doing what you're doing and how you're doing it...we love ya and your sweet little blog, LOL!!!

Jill, don't know what has transpired, but this is YOUR soapbox, your small space to do 'your thing.'I so enjoy your blog & all the wonderful things you do for others. I know you will rise above their short comings and not lower your blog to their level. Bless you, Jill & keep on blogging! Love you just the way you are!

I agree with what everyone has said. You can run your blog however you want. Is that not the whole purpose of it? If someone does not like something on a blog, do not read it. Stitching is supposed to be one of the best ways to express ourselves. I know it is for me. Just keep doing what you are doing. There are plenty of us out there that love your blog!
