Where Did Alicia Come From?

Scissors. Gingher Scissors. Gingher Designer Scissors. OMG!

What is it with these that we go to the extremes to get? Why do we have to have them? Not sure but another one made an appearance today in this part of the world.

My friend, Joanus, called me from her Joann's and said that they had Gingher Alicia scissors. We knew about the ones coming next month but not this one! They were not on sale and she only had a few coupons. I said I would be right over. Jackie got there before me and purchased 3 pair for our group. I got out there and met her in the store and when we were standing there planning our action, I was examining the scissors. What? Could it be? YES! These Alicia's have peacocks feathers on them! Outstanding! Needless to say I was so very excited. Then Joan remembered that Joann's honors their sales 7 days before they start. She checked with a clerk and yes, we didn't necessarily need coupons for them. Hot-diggity-dog! I knew then for sure I was getting both the 4" and the 8". Did I say I was very excited? We briefly looked around for a couple of things and checked out. We managed to get scissors for our whole group.

I tried to do a closeup so the feather would show better.

Whew! What a whirlwide afternoon. I am very excited.

Have a great day!

Yeah for you! I agree, what is it about them? Truthfully, I don't really love them for my cross stitch - I think the blades are too fat but still, I buy them. It is a sickness....

Jill ~ Do you have a Pier One near you? They have some lovely items fashioned after peacocks - some looking like the bird and others simply using the design or pattern of the feathers. They were really lovely and it made me think of you.

Thank you so much for the heads-up! I am a collector too! I'll have to run down a pair at a Joanns. I live about an hour away from a Joanns, so I will call before going to make sure they have them!

I just picked up my pair this morning. I had no idea they were coming out and was waiting for the new ones in September. Thank goodness I had a coupon when I went into the store. I can't not buy them!!

I picked up one too yesterday and blogged about it.

I think that these were the best kept secret.

Hmmmm, I didn't know that Joann's honors their sales 7 days in advance. They never told me that everytime I ask for coupons. They always tell me that I have to have the coupon with me. hmmmmm.

I will ask next time. Great tip.

I am your newest blog follower. Isn't it great that TESSA comes out soon too!!!! TWO gingher scissor designs in the span of about two weeks!!! Things can't get much better than that....

A scissor junkie....

Hi again,

Yes, I did see that you stitch pink! In fact, the pink stash started because my grand aunt battled breast cancer twice. The first time she was young and went into remission for decades. The second time it was devastating and I stitched the Lizzie Kate, Love Peace and a Cure for her (on my blog). Her daughter, now is living with breast cancer for at least 5 years now... she keeps going everyday... I don't know how she does it. Must be faith.

A cure must be found for cancer in our lifetimes.

Just hearing your New York song...
we survived Irene.

I have been fighting the urge to start collecting these for so long... this might be the set that breaks me.

Your play by play made me giggle!

Do you have a joann's near you. Could I pay you to go get me a 4" pair of Alicia scissors? Our Joann's doesn't have them and I am a blue person but they are up to $60 on ebay. Let me know.
