Plenty and Grace

Plenty and Grace
Primitive Traditions
36ct. Antique White linen
DMC threads
Date Started: 5/14/2011
Date Finished Stitching: 8/4/2011
Date Completed: 8/5/2011

I am so excited to be finished with this piece. The pattern calls for Belle Soie (16 of them), I changed them all to DMC. Our (dh & I) house is in the middle with initials and date, our parents' house are in each side and above our parents' houses are our siblings respectively. We each have 5 siblings so it turned out nice and balance! Since we only have 1 son, I added him below our house. This was a very fun piece but alot of stitching!

I never would have sought out to get a blue frame for this piece, but I love how it brings out the lighter colors. Very happy!

Since I was going throught the framing exercise for the above piece, I decided to see what I could do with my Soar Sampler.

Again, I would never have sought out to get this color of frame, but I love it. And, it is purple! This picture is not going to be so great but I am very happy with it.

I am getting ready for our annual retreat next week, Tuesday through Saturday, at my good friend, Joan's, house. Our theme this year is Pink Flamingo's. I am trying to figure out what I want to stitch on...good thing I have a couple of days! Currently I am working on my Hardanger HAL project. I will be going through my stash to find some treasures!

I just signed up to participate in the iStitch SAL Mystery Sampler. It will start on August 13. That should be very fun also.

That's it for now. Thanks for visiting and Happy Stitching!

Both finishes are wonderful! I can't believe how quickly you finished Plenty and Grace! That would have taken me a year! And Soar is wonderful too.

Great finishes and frame choices! I'm been trying what to stitch for our 40th anniversary next year, and Plenty and Grace may have to go on the possibility list. Enjoy your retreat!

Grace and Plenty is just gorgeous, love the framing.

Pink Flamingo's - how fun! I have lots of Flamingo things having lived in Miami, Fl. You may have already seen all the Pink Flamingo things at Joann's. Plus there was dome paperplates, napkins, and balloons at the Dollar Store with flamingos.

Both pieces are perfectly framed and perfectly stitched. I absolutely LOVE how you personalized Plenty and Grace. And the more I see of SOAR the more I have to get this one. :)

Jill,

I need a favor. A friend of mine is wanting to stitch Pleny and Grace and was trying to contact you but was having trouble setting up a Google account, so I am going to ask for her. Is there any possibility you would share the conversions to DMC ? Thank you for your time, and keep up the good work on your fab blog. Jo Ann

I accidentally (happily) stumbled upon your blog, and much to my delight, I find SOAR! I follow With Thy Needle & Thread blog. I learned of the Decorah eagles when the first egg was laid. When my daughter in law showed the eagles from the link I had emailed to them, the littliest asked "Gramma Becky's eagles?". A precious memory. I too bought the sampler... But I haven't learned to xstitch yet. Your lovely (finished) project inspires me to dig out the pattern & begin! Congrats on your 2 beautiful projects! Happy retreat.... and Travelling mercies.
